Be my secretary or be my accountant....your choice!
When I started on my career....I was given an option by my boss! I temped as his secretary, but he was training me in accounting and as Iexcelled in both, I was given the option to choose. I went with what I love doing and has been doing for the past 30 years now. Accounting.....yes, some people tell me that is the most boring job ever! LOL! So, tell what do you like about your job and why you chose it! Was it your 1st or 2nd choice....or you had no choice? Which then means you had to work to survive! |

I worked in Hospitality Management in large convention and resort hotels for 28 years...it was interesting, extremely busy, and I was always on call, so to speak. I finally gave it up and took a couple of years just working where-ever, then chose to work with the elderly.
For the past 7 years I have been working at a wonderful campus for the elderly, independent living, assisted living, alzhiemers, and total care facility. You would not believe how rewarding it is to be with these folks. Anyone looking to make a difference in people's lives, check it out. There are lots of volunteer opportunities available too. You won't regret it. They and their families need you. |

Being a farmer was never my plan, at all.
Joined the military at 18, with plans of making a career of it. After leaving the military, I wandered aimlessly, working in oilfields. Came back to the farm to look after my mother, when she had terminal cancer. After she passed, my dad asked me to stay. So 20 some odd years later, I'm still here. And lovin it.........86.729% of the time. |

I work as an independent contractor for two companies on-line doing medical transcription. I enjoy it because I work from home and make my own hours. I've been doing medical transcription for 30 years, so yeah, I like it.

Envy you! Wish I could say I have no dead lines, but they are there all the while and come tax dead lines, I am nearly dead from chasing it! |

I don't love or hate my job, it's just a way of paying bills. I only talk and think about it when I'm at work, where it gets my fullest attention. When I'm on my own time, I prefer to talk and think about other things...

I like it.. most of the time.. but don't love it.
Some days are great.. some good.. some not so good.. some terrible DD, at least you like it, rather than hate it. Hating a job and having to stay in it would be worse! Stay happy! |

I've been doing medical transcription for 30 years, so yeah, I like it. Hello Lili ! There is nothing like working from home. I work from home most of the time, but have to make visits to clients offices occasionally! Still hate that as the traveling can be stressful with the hours long jam here in the capital of our country. Being a farmer was never my plan, at all. Joined the military at 18, with plans of making a career of it. After leaving the military, I wandered aimlessly, working in oilfields. When I'm on my own time, I prefer to talk and think about other things... GRX Glad you don't hate your job! I'm glad I can still work and love it (when I'm not chasing the deadlines, anyway) as it is my only way to pay the bills that can really pile up! We count our blessings as I know of some people who just hated their jobs, some who couldn't find a job, and some who can't work anymore due to illness, injury and other reasons! |

I like mine most of the time. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it.
I am IT guy. I show choo-choo. I show where choo-choo go. Our group is basically a railroad version of Google Maps lol. It is challenging, and sometimes high pressure, but I like challenges and the job is seldom boring. Oh and Ame, you're still way better than me at math! |
