A friend of mine is a photographer...she calls herself a hobbyist...however, she advertises and has booked (and done) several weddings along with portfolio pics and family photos...She is complaining because other professionals are answering her ads complaining of her low fees... I think they have a point... |

I think they have a point... I agree...they have a point...because she puts out ads....seems as she is not doing it only for family and friends. On the other hand...and that's why I thought of the above...if she is just starting she can maybe call herself a "student" and just ask for a fee to support the costs. |

If she REALLY wants to help people that can't afford it she should go for a non for profit structure and then get funding.
