Has anyone heard of the restaurant Noir in Toronto? Noir is a restaurant in Toronto that serves it's customers in a completely dark room. The wait staff is all blind but perfectly capable. Look them up for a fuller explanation.

It's my birthday this weekend so I wanted to do something unusual :)

Here's the idea: We don't share any pictures or personal details before meeting. We just agree on a date, time, and location (obviously Noir). The experience will unfold itself from there. We'll have no visual cues to affect our perceptions of each other and plenty to talk about trying to figure out the enigma across the table. I'm hoping that the added element of blind socializing will heighten the unique experience the restaurant already brings. Also you can order a surprise meal too for extra mystery.

There's only one rule: Don't tell me anything about yourself or send pics. Ideally remove your pics temporarily so the thumbnails don't show up when you post on this thread (don't worry you can re-upload them after the weekend). I won't check your profile so no need to change your stats (but of course feel free to just so you know for certain that I'm going in blind as well). I just created a new account, it's easier that way.

I will not be discriminating based on race, creed, age, or anything for that matter. Absolutely anyone can respond to this but I'll include just this one piece of information about myself, I'm a straight male.

If this thread gets a lot of interest I'll happily schedule this as group outing, a large completely anonymous group should make for an interesting birthday party indeed.

Ugh lol, that was an epic fail. Automatically signed in as my main account and posted the update. Just had to scramble to clear all my personal information. Almost broke the whole idea :)

The update: I'd be aiming for sunday afternoon or early evening to get together but I can be flexible. So if anyone is looking for a brand new life experience, a story to tell at work Monday, or is even just bored on Sunday drop me a line.

Sadly no one took me up on the offer, I do admit though it is a little unusual.

I even tried other avenues like Reddit but there were mixed feelings there too. Some like the idea others think it's creepy, ha ha.
