It's like he hasn't figured out the whole game about daddy issues or something o_O yea... u might say that ... but agree their was a time I would have like my x to be more like my dad but neither could ... and what about the man looking for the mom syndrome  their are things i would like in a man to have that my father had in his personality but certainly not all i would never find it ... being realistic about it ...

.. oddly enough !!..I have kept my dads old belt.. the one that he used to make us kids.. go fetch from his closet.. when we deserved..a spanking... I have used it twice on my own boys... it helps create a sense. that there are consequences to your actions... I don't like spanking my children..

only once an it freaked me out when I was young ... I was scared of him ever since lol but I never used a belt ... few smacks her and there but sometimes that just makes them more defiant best for me was take away what they liked the most at the time ... wow ... works ...

I would have to lock them. out of their room!! to keep them what they like... kids today have so many options... they can switch gears on a dime... I just let them know I am upset with them... and tell them I'm going to get the belt... that usually works..lol |

yep. lots of reasearch nowadays about corporal punishment. typically all it 'teaches' is that big people can be violent with smaller people. The conflict comes in when the big people are supposed to protect them. In the 70's folks didnt know about the effects of such things (effect on child development). Since Baumrind, its really everywhere. I agree there really are so many cases of young children being abused or killed becouse of don't shake your baby ... so do not realize... would say a little different then the old days but some children grew up in a house of abuse very angry... I didn't... later i could talk to my dad about almost anything ... and really being a single father he did the best he could have ever done ... becouse I know there are many being abused as we speak and i know how good I had it ... and how others do not ... |
