I agree, the media does use selective semantics to persuade their audience

like the choice between 'teen', or 'boys' vs 'man' or 'men'

or 'troubled' or 'disturbed' vs 'violent' or 'thug'

or 'demanded' , 'complained' vs 'stated' or 'said'

I can go on and on,, media certainly use these slant words and people have to work hard to overlook those impressionist choices to the actual factual parts of the report

I don't believe the 'myth' that a man trying to escape prosecution beats someone 'almost unconscious' but leaves the gun and only returns AFTER the gun has been drawn on him and AFTER he is already on his way to escape,,,not only returns but "CHARGES' into the spray of bullets,,,

others feel it is a 'myth' that this man ran and when fired upon turned to surrender

but none really know which is 'myth' or not,,,,thats the controversial aspect of reporting that keeps people debating and viewing and making the sponsors money
