How do you tell when you're slipping into depression?
do you want to get up in the morning?
not really
do you care if you even get a shower??
have you thought about killing yourself? My doc asked me some questions like this... |
Intrapersonal:
Having feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Being preocuupied with feelings of guilt. Unable to feel or express emotions. Irritable. Can be agitated. Lack self-confidence. Feelings of worthlessness. Cry for no apparent reason. Cognitive: Difficulity in attending to a task. Recurrent thoughts of death and suicide. Difficulty making decisions and solving problems. Difficulty in finding activities of interest. Leisure: The person may lose interest in leisure activities formerly enjoyed. These are some of the symptoms. People feel some of these things. Not necessarily all of them. |

I did get treated for depression several years ago, but then there was a reason for the depression, but now, I don't know what could've triggered it this time.
The depression several years ago was bad including several suicide attempts and scarring myself terribly. |

One way, is when your asking this question. I was once clinicly depresed my self about 15 years ago, and what I have learned is to take your depresion and put it into a possitive energy. Like meeting new people, enjoying all the good things that have happened in your life. never dwell on the past, and then at that point you can look for all the good growth in your future. I know that some of us are here to find someone to be with in a relationship, and others are here for friendship only. either way we go there is always someone possitive to chat with to get support. I once saw a t-shirt that said, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS DEPRESION, THE OTHER PEOPLE ARE JUST TO F---ING HAPPY. LOL

I would go to my doc and talk with them
Like I have the money to go see a doc.

There doesn't have to be "a reason" to be depressed.
It is often caused by a chemical imbalance. |
I just a got that chemical imbalace a lot.
Ah, f**k it! Forget about it. I'll get over it. |

If you don't have the money to see a Dr, aren't there clinics in your area? Some of the hospitals have clinics, also.
Colleges have sliding fee scale counselors. They are students. If you feel very depressed, call the suicide hot-line and ask for referrels. Also, the United Way can refer you to low cost counseling. There are options, if you need them. Good luck and hope you start feeling better. |

Sit and listen to a doc asking me How I feel every couple of minutes will probably make me more depressed. Oh well. May as well suck it up

If it doesn't pass, you may need anti-depressants.
I tried anti-depressants before. They only made it worst.
been there done that no fun
Yup..depression's a *****!
I would say that I can become an alcoholic to forget depression, but I already sort of am an alcoholic, so that rules drinking out
Sometimes it takes trying several meds to find the right one.
