I thought we could use a thread to share Christian quotes, I'll start with one of my favorites...

The next moment is as much beyond our grasp, and as much in God's care, as that a hundred years away. Care for the next minute is as foolish as care for a day in the next thousand years. In neither can we do anything, in both God is doing everything. C S Lewis

When I die I want to go like my Grandfather, who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car. I don't know the author
That's not a Christian quote, but besides being funny, for me it speaks a lot about how our attitude determines how we deal with life's problems. |

Hello My dear friend and brother... So good to see you. Here is one of many ... "All the masterpieces of art contain both light and shadow. A happy life is not one filled with only sunshine, but one which uses both light & shadow to produce beauty." American evangelist Billy Graham |

I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. – Mere Christianity, pages 40-41. C. S. Lewis. |

THE SEED OF GOD
The seed of God is in us. If the seed had a good, wise and industrious cultivator, it would thrive all the more and grow up to God whose seed it is, and the fruit would be equal to the nature of God. Now the seed of a pear tree grows into a pear tree, a hazel seed into a hazel tree, and the seed of God into God. If the seal is pressed completely through the wax so that no wax remains without being impressed by the seal, then it becomes indistinguishably one with the seal. Similarly the soul becomes completely united with God. Meister Eckhart (1260?-1327?) |

Do Not Worry:
... I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap... yet God feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?... Why worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or "What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?' ...and... do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 7, 25-34 |

Thank you Anoasis.
The do not Worry verses in Mathew and Luke is a favorite of mine. Here is another: John 5:19-20a, "The Son can do nothing by Himself; he can do only what He sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son does also. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does." (NIV) |

Britty-
I also like the non-religious saying similar to that verse from John: "What the student doesn't know, the teacher didn't teach." |
