When the Civil Rights bill passed, no one screamed for Johnson's impeachment. In fact, people like Richard Russell told his state that they may not like it, he doesn't like, but as federal law they needed to peacefully follow it. Remember when Buckley told the John Birches to get a grip? What happened to those types of people and times? I remember Johnson saying "We will have these Ni**ers voting Democrat for the next 100 years". It's the only reason he did. I remember Eisenhower before him sending in Army Rangers to protect African American students many years before Johnson did that. I thought the quote was: "We just handed the South to the Republicans for the next 100 years" Forgive Mr Conrad he is not from this country. He is from one of those Scandinavian countries, ya know the ones that are in the top ten as far as standard of living. Jealous? No but the policies you promote are not practiced in your country ya know that rugged capitalist thing, every man for himself etc etc. I just find it odd how you promote that Atlas shrugged rubbish while living in a country that is pretty much is a nanny state and has a far better standard of living than the US. Why does Atlas frighten you so?

Yep,and I remember quite well the Underhandedness and Skullduggery by Johnson,Gore senior,Byrd and others! Only reason they climbed on the Bandwagon is because they feared to lose those Votes! Besides,I might have a better grasp on US History than some ever will! have always wondered Conrad why that is? Your interest in out history. Would you consider Switzerland as one of the tiny countries along with Belgium & Luxembourg and the netherlands? I always wondered if that designation was specific....lol I don;t think Lyndon Johnson plotted to kill JFK, but I do think that he, JFK, and Eishower would, if in residence now, send troops to the mexican border and into central america directly....bay of pigs style. What happened to those times? A gradual erosion of the morale to uphold the Constitution which will be Obama's legacy. LaRaza saw a chink in the resolve to uphold our laws, and now wish to see the armor fall off completely. The Civil Rights legislation was LEGAL and the subjects were legal nationals / citizens living here LEGALLY (big big difference). Their rights had been on the horizon for years and many commonfolk in the USA supported that legislation. Black Americans were well organised and familiar with US political machinery. They had almost universal support north of mason/dixon which includes some of the more populated parts of the country. Black Americans, including the more radical elements, wanted to add to the existing constitution, not violate it. Quite the opposite of today's idiotic LaRaza notions. actually,our two Countries have very similar. Constitutions,and a similar Political system,except we have several more than two Parties involved in the political Process! In any case that is little more than a technicality. I don;t think anyone was disputing international participation, nor was I objecting to your interest in American History. Americans believe soundly in the freedom of conscience including the right to call Rand sophmoric ( ) You seem a little defensive. I was just wondering why you were so interested as perhaps you are an historian or have US relatives or something. I was not asking for a negative or argumentative agenda, Conrad.

I dont know Mr Conrad your country leads most of the world in vacation time public education high minimum wage maternity leave etc etc. It seems you should spend your time trying to educate your own country on the virtues of free market capitalism. Oh by the way I admire your country far more than Uber Umerika

Oh by the way I admire your country far more than Uber Umerika actually there is no Minimumwage in Switzerland! The Voters just rejected the setting of a Minimumwage on May 18th! I don't know what Country you are talking about,but it must be Sweden! You really need to get your Facts straight! Also,another Point,here we are NOT forced into a Union,and getting thieved blind by the Union-Thugs,like You-Know-Where!

The aged would not fare well under such a brutal system. Only those who can work and trample others could possibly thrive at the expense of others. Such a system would use up the strong and then kick them to the curb when they are sick and elderly, no pension no medical no money for them. It frightens me that anyone can take it seriously. And when they do I giggle. If it came to pass I would cry for the future of the world and the children not born yet.
