A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.

Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch.

by the mere fact that one cannot find even ONE positive thing to say about ANY human being, whatever their profession, it makes them a HATER

MH would lead one to believe that everyone who notices the failures in Obama's character and administration is a "hater" or a "racist". Yet she claims to not make generalizations.

The polls would indicate that an increasing percentage of the population of the US (now a large majority) are seeing the same traits first noticed by the Conservatives. Many Democratic politicians are running for office by denouncing Obama's policies. 'Nuf said.

Dodo put forth a challenge, from my perception , to prove we are neither haters nor worshippers
by asking those who are normally negative to say something positive and t hose who are usually positive to say something negative

the definition of hater is not a generalization, it is what it is,,,

polls don't have any indication of whether the population is incapable of finding either one positive or one negative about the potus

disagreeing with some of his policies is quite different than not being able to acknowledge ANYTHING positive ,, vastly different

DODO himself regularly posts how he disagrees with his policies, but I would bet the bank that he is still able to at least ACKNOWLEDGE something positive about him as well,,,,

it has to do with whether humans can acknowledge strengths and weaknesses in others,,,,which is the topic of the thread

If there was ANY success during his Presidency I would be happy, but he has been one COLOSSAL F-up as a President.

homosexuals who can now marry and serve openly would probably find something positive

previously uninsured due to preexisting ocnditions would probably find something positive

military families who have their loved ones back from Iraq would probably find something positive

people no longer seeing their credit cards rip them off with interest rates would probably find something positive

people who have seen their taxes cut probably would find something positive

people concerned with the environment and our dependence upon foreign oil may find something positive

the question posed had nothing to do with whether someone supports someone or not, it was whether someone had the BALANCE to aknowledge both good and bad about someone,,,

OK, here is one positive thing that Obama has done while POTUS ...

One day during his first term, he decided to take a break from the Oval Office and go see his elder daughter play in a game of soccer.

Being POTUS is a short-term job. Being a daddy is forever.

He does seem to be a good father. Not easy to do in his position. I think his daughters are blessed to have the parents they do.

that's right, as a 'supporter' of the POTUS, my challenge was saying things that are 'negative'

I do not like that he allowed himself to be cornered into the Rev Wright Scandal,,

I don't know why Presidents don't seem to believe 'no comment' or 'that's personal' are reasonable responses,,,
