in Canada even tho it's quite capable of supporting one. As far as
history goes...The Winnipeg Jets had a history, but the new owners were
allowed to move the team to Phoenix...FKIN PHOENIX fer cryin out loud..a
hockey team in the middle of the freakin desert!!!
Colorado used to have an NHL team before the Avalanche..the old Rockies,
who got moved to become the New Jersey Devils...The Quebec Nordiques
then moved to Colorado to become the Avalanche..US cities that HAD teams
and lost them are getting new ones while a city like Hamilton(A definite
hockey city) can't even get one when some guy from there BUYS a team.
Minnesota had a team...it moved to Dallas, now they have another team.
Atlanta was the same and as I mentioned earlier, Colorado. They've used
the excuse for years about how close Toronto Buffalo is and then
Hamilton would take fans away from the other 2...Bullshit the only team
that MIGHT lose fans would be Buffalo but I doubt that. And if
geographic proximity is the case then explain NYR, NYI and the Devils.
They're pretty close together and yet they've all had a solid fan base
for years.
Nope, hockey is no longer Canada's game..some dink got a hold of it and
tried to turn it into basketball on ice.
