It is not grammar differences, it is specific different commandments

And thus the reason I requested a book/verse or whatever they are called from specifically the Torah to cross reference and read the context used to see if it is in fact entirely different and not just grammatical.

You don't one, firstly I quoted them in the OP, they are in Exodus 34, which you can compare to the others.

Ok I apologize. Did not realize it was called exodus in the Torah as well, figured it had some other name that translated into Exodus. Again my apologies.

And reason being that, is because each time I try to search "Torah Exodus 34:28 all the links it gives me is from the king James, it doesn't give the verse from the Torah. Which is why even still I believe it uses a different translated name in the Torah for that book. Unless you can help me out and give a link to a website that gives the verses specifically from the Torah.

8. And Moses hastened, bowed his head to the ground and prostrated himself, ח.
9. and said: "If I have now found favor in Your eyes, O Lord, let the Lord go now in our midst [even] if they are a stiff necked people, and You shall forgive our iniquity and our sin and thus secure us as Your possession." ט.

Gee my torah has it:
28 Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.

Ooh, mine is capitalized! Does it matter? It is the only place where something called the 10 commandments are mentioned

Does it now?

Torah -
28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten words.

*side note on what got us into this "bickering" if you will so it seems*

This si the reason I asked for either a link or something to cross reference. To either see the context or just to see it for myself in general. The torah says "ten words" and they are not capitalized. Again, yes not putting entire faith into the site as we all know I don't read specifically the Torah, so I would have no idea to know if it's legit or not. So if you know of somewhere(s) it capitalizes it please share, a single person writing it does not count either, for the grammar still plays a part with possible error. The example would have to be from a site specifically dedicated to the verse(s) in that translation please if you will.

He was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water, and He inscribed upon the tablets the words of the Covenant, the Ten Commandments.
29. And it came to pass when Moses descended from Mount Sinai, and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses' hand when he descended from the mountain and Moses did not know that the skin of his face had become radiant while He had spoken with him כט.
30. that Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses and behold! the skin of his face had become radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. ל.
31. But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the princes of the community returned to him, and Moses would speak to them.
32. Afterwards all the children of Israel would draw near, and he would command them everything that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
33. When Moses had finished speaking with them, he placed a covering over his face.
34. When Moses would come before the Lord to speak with Him, he would remove the covering until he left; then he would leave and speak to the children of Israel what he would be commanded.
35. Then the children of Israel would see Moses' face, that the skin of Moses' face had become radiant, and [then] Moses would replace the covering over his face until he would come [again] to speak with Him.

From the same version you used the Shemot, still says just "ten words"

And he was there with HaShem forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten words,

and is not capitalized at that.

Gee, I wonder why no one has responded to this. As my old theology professor would say people who respect the bible never actually read it. It often doesn't say what you have been taught it says. I remember an old lady asked me a trick question: how many of each animal did Moses take on the ark? I told her not Moses but Noah and he took 7 of each animal. She laugh and said I got her, but Noah took 2 of each animal; I told her to go and read her bible. She read her bible everyday and was a devout member of Billy Graham Organization. The next day- I used to bring her fancy desserts- she suddenly looked at me and almost whispered: I read my bible last night, Noah took 7 of each animal on the Ark. I said yes deary, but what does that have to do with loving and caring for each other. She smiled

The rules/laws given in exodus are the "10 commandments". Notice "10 commandments" isn't specifically a title, it's not like they are called "The Ten Commandments". It is just a list of commandments given to us, and there happens to be 10 of them specifically there. So we ourselves specifically refer to them in title form as the "Ten Commandments" so in discussion in any shape about them, it is clear to which of the commandments are in reference.

Cleary, Exodus 34 calls them the 10 Commandments, that g-d wrote on stone; you can call something else the 10 commandments, but that doesn't make it so

Exodus 34 is not truly THAT clear, it initially says GOD would write the same commandments that were FIRST on the tablets , then God speaks, then God tells Moses to write down the words, then Moses writes 'on the tablet' the words of the 'covenant'

during old testament there was a special covenant between God and Moses people, it consisted of many rules, including the TEN spoken by God on the Mt that the people did not want him to speak to them directly,, what we refer to as ten commandments

I am no expert on which ones were included on the tablets, or if these are the only things included on the tablets,,

but this is what I refer to as 'ten commandments', those spoken by God to Moses for the people who were too fearful to hear them directly from him

And technically all the other laws/commandments are moot when speaking of specifically the 10 commandments. For the "10 commandments" is specifically in reference to a certain group of commandments/laws. So please, lets not play these games "there's this many, now there's actually that many," and so forth. Weather they are even called specifically the 10 commandments or not in the scriptures is moot as well. For we refer to them with that title for again so we know what specific laws/commandments someone is talking about.

I refer to the Decalogue of Exodus 20 as being just that, while acknowledging that the Torah has more than 10 commandments.

This, of course is the point!

Xian Reconstructionism- based on Rushdoony's 1973 tome The Institutes of Biblical Law, movement has an agenda to: "...replace democracy with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of 'Biblical law'. Reconstructionism would eliminate not only democracy but many of its manifestations, such as labor unions, civil rights laws and public schools. Women would be generally regulated to hearth and home. Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship, perhaps executed"- Federick Clarkson.

And again the "10 commandments" was a specific set of commandments that were given at one exact time. Doesn't mean those were the only commandments given or the only commandments needed to follow. Just that those specific 10 were given at a specific time. And I can guarantee you that those 613 can be summarized into those 10 unless you're going to get nitty gritty and are speaking of specific commandments to specific people for specific reasons as well, those would be moot to the general population these days as they would be irrelevant.

The Ten Commandments We Always See, Aren’t The Ten Commandments

by Russ Kick on February 18, 2010 in News
The following is the first chapter from my bite-size Disinformation book 50 Things You’re Not Supposed to Know, published in 2003.

_____________________________________

First Amendment battles continue to rage across the US over the posting of the Ten Commandments in public places — courthouses, schools, parks, and pretty much anywhere else you can imagine.

Christians argue that they’re a part of our Western heritage that should be displayed as ubiquitously as traffic signs. Congressman Bob Barr hilariously suggested that the Columbine massacre wouldn’t have happened if the Ten Commandments (also called the Decalogue) had been posted in the high school, and some government officials have directly, purposely disobeyed court rulings against the display of these ten directives supposedly handed down from on high.

Too bad they’re all talking about the wrong rules. Every Decalogue you see — from the 5,000-pound granite behemoth inside the Alabama State Judicial Building to the little wallet-cards sold at Christian bookstores — is bogus. Simply reading the Bible will prove this. Getting out your King James version, turn to Exodus 20:2-17. You’ll see the familiar list of rules about having no other gods, honoring your parents, not killing or coveting,
and so on. At this point, though, Moses is just repeating to the people what God told him on Mount Si’nai. These are not written down in any form.

Later, Moses goes back to the Mount, where God gives him two “tables of stone” with rules written on them (Exodus 31:18). But when Moses comes down the mountain lugging his load, he sees the people worshipping a statue of a calf, causing him to throw a tantrum and smash the tablets on the ground (Exodus 32:19).

In neither of these cases does the Bible refer to “commandments.” In the first instance, they are “words” which “God spake,” while the tablets contain “testimony.” It is only when Moses goes back for new tablets that we see the phrase “ten commandments” (Exodus 34:28). In an interesting turn of events, the commandments on these tablets are significantly different than the ten rules Moses recited for the people, meaning that either Moses’ memory is faulty or God changed his mind.

I. Thou shalt worship no other god.

II. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

III. The feast of unleavened bread thou shalt keep.

IV. Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest.

V. Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest,
and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.

VI. Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord God.

VII. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven.

VIII. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

IX. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God.

X. Thou shalt not seethe a kid [ie, a young goat] in his mother’s milk.

Most christians don't see the second commandment.

Most christians don't see the second commandment.

Some Christian groups do, some don't. But also, don't know the translation these specific verses are from but the verse is no "gaven images" not specifically molten.

II. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

And in turn would technically be incorrect and a mistranslation. As the verse says "any graven images". You can grave things also into wood eg., the crosses with Jesus on it. Now the crosses in itself is not where the wrong/sin resides. It's when they have Jesus on the cross where the sin comes in. Because it goes into further detail then just "graven images"

Exodus 20:4

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

The instruction is more specifically referring to images of things in Heaven or in Hell eg., is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath. And that's only common sense, for any images of either place or that associated would not be accurate in any way shape or form because we have not seen either places with our own eyes.

really? i have read it about 8 times cover to cover..., and have studied it since childhood. it is, interestingly the sigular book that one can study thier whole lives and learn as much the last time they study as the first.

... and everyone knows which ten commandments are being referred to. When we want to dodge a difficult question, WE change the topic. for proof see the current administration. example- if we disagree with the administration, or have valid issues or complaints, we are told it is because we are racist. That old card is wearing really thin i think. , but it is the exact same tactic we are seeing here.
