The Internet can be a fun fun place
Instant messaging and chasing friends all day long
All from the comfort of your bedroom
Isn't that great!!

Mum & Dad told you never to take sweets
From hairy strangers but times have changed
And everyday they have new high tec games

If you are lonely don't look into shiny dark corners
Cos little things will play on your mind
Then slowly hook you in over time

Is she a she or is he a he
When you're on line how can you tell
He maybe not your age, is she on the same page


They seem to know your heart's desires
Those web faced liars
Before you know it they have you in their hands
You tell them your life story and so they are understand

Their stories are always so appealing
But their details are not so revealing
The only clue will be a spelling mistake
When they mis translate

Living in such a lonely society
Where a friend is so rare
Be careful on the internet
Cos there are those who want to steal your confidence and respect

All with the flick of a finger and the click of a mouse ....

actually 3 times. :)
Here's why.

'Don't "look into shiny dark corners"
coz little things will play on your mind'

though first line 'dark corners' bit, didn't quite like it;
then the next line "little things will play" made complete sense.
that's how our mind works, I agree;
& before we know it, it's 'bait, hook & sinker'.

".. slowly hook you over time",
that was fairly 'civil'.
I would have whiplashed with:
'drag one across the sands, 'sands of time'
poetic license & all, you know.

I intend using this phrase in office;
even out of context; it's a great cuz word
