I've been in love with zombies since I was 6, anyone else? Ladies get bonus points for proving that chicks into reanimated cadavres really existed before the biggest show on cable blew up...

Well, obviously I get no bonus points, but...
The Walking Dead isn't even the first ongoing zombie comic book series. Deadworld has been around since 1987. I grew up on horror films. My earliest zombie memory was seeing parts of the 1966 Hammer film The Plague Of The Zombies on TV, which was around 1976 or 1977, so I would have been 6 or 7. But I really started noticing zombies when my dad and one of my sisters would rent horror movies in the early 80's which included Nightmare City(under the title City Of The Walking Dead), Lucio Fulci's Zombie, Dead & Buried, Hell Of The Living Dead, Shock Waves, Oasis Of The Zombies, Zombie Lake. And on TV (UHF most likely) seeing the original Night Of The Living Dead, and I Eat Your Skin. And on Commander USA's Groovie Movies on USA Network seeing The Children (aka The Children Of Ravensback), and Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. But when I finally saw my favorite horror film (and film in general) George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, then I tried to see everything zombie related, went and saw Day Of The Dead, and Return Of The Living Dead during their original theatrical releases, and renting Re Animator, The Grapes Of Death, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Night Life, The Boneyard and even the cheesiest of cheesy zombie movies weren't safe- Redneck Zombies, The Video Dead, Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town, Flesheater, The Dead Pit, Dead Dudes In The House... And reading zombie books like Robert McCammon's The Night Boat, and the excellent zombie anthology Book Of The Dead. Some of my favorite more recent zombie flicks are The Battery, The Dead, Deadgirl, Exit Humanity, Doghouse, Rammbock: Berlin Undead. |

The holy grail of zombie movies- Dead End (1985), so rare even the director can't find a copy (seriously) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0131260/combined |

At its peak my horror flick collection was at 878... I would look for certain ones forever before finding them! Bride of reanimator, and dead end were two of them..most of my stuff was on vhs, but their were still movies I remember from the creature features and such I never found.. ****in basketcase forget about it, I damn near had to give a limb for leads to those..this was before cells and internet and ****! Ended up finding them at half price books both for a buck..though I am surprised at no one mention the "return" series! Tarman, trioxin, naked gravedances!

Like I said above, not even the director can find a copy. And I did mention Return Of The Living Dead in my post. ![]() |
