The first thing I do is read a profile. why is it that 99.9% of you MEN can NOT read them?

Maybe you think its a waist of your time, but its an even a bigger waist of my time to hit the "X" button on the chat.

Thank-you for clarifying. NO. I mean when someone sends you a message making contact with you. Just not when someone views someone.

I messaged you back.. in response to your message.. are the topic of your message... then I ask you for permission to view you... I myself do not randomly view.. viewers... if you want me to view you.. you have to give me permission... written permission.... like you would receive from your doctor for missing work...lol... we vampires.. can't enter unless you invite us in...hmm.. sad but true....

I read them. Why? I like to have some idea of who I'm dealing with beyond a face and I'm past HS so I'm not really running on looks alone. When there's not a lot to read on a profile past about a couple of sentences to maybe a 3rd grade style paragraph then there's really nothing to work with in order to write to anyone. Basically, when it's like that, it's either write something short seeing if they want to talk or just "state interest".

See my deal is more along the lines of... Why can't 90% of people (in my case women) really actually think about writing something down for a mentality display of some sort more than half assedly putting in some generic bs to make themselves look "individually interesting"? I'm glad everyone's music preferences aren't "eclectic" anymore but honestly if people can't put themselves together enough to explain themselves to an onlooker in a dating site then what should they expect back?

If stereotyping is good for the goose, then ... Oh, never mind.

I am not a "view hound". If someone views and messages me, I will answer. If they don't reply to my response, I shrug it off. If they do reply and a conversation ensues, then I'll read the profile.

That being said, I don't know what could be in a profile that I couldn't be told in a conversation.

I have no idea where you pulled that whole vampire rant No1PHD.....but in any case it was kind of entertaining.

I also have come across either nothing written in a profile or very little. Sad to say but s lot of people just go for looks. I have done my own personal experiment. I put up one pf pic and its not revealing but I guess its a more show worthy pic, then I put up a pf pic of me in my fav jogs and tshirt. that's how I like to dress at home being comfy. I will get a ton from the one and maybe one or two from the jog pic.

if I get one of those instant messages come up ( why I keep that on is beyond me)I always look at the pf, always! I 100% agree that if ppl can not take the time to introduce themselves or tell something about themselves that is helpful,why be on a "dating site".

Maybe my expectations are too high, I don't know. but I want someone to actually take the time to read what I have to say and respect that.

I am NOT stereotyping anyone. I am simply a woman that is straight, on a dating site, talking to men. I do not talk to women to get a girlfriend. so of course I am going to talk about men. don't look so much into it.

For ME personally I get the "do I want to have fun" question, that is clearly in my pf that I DO NOT. I have the age that I would prefer to stick with. Country I would prefer to stick with. What do I get constantly....... foreign men wanting to bang me. OVER AND OVER. now that's just the main one that irks me there is more. you are here to learn about other ppl! if you read someones pf you will learn more if you would like to talk to them or not.

But everyone can do whatever it is they want.

Granted your statement doesn't pertain to us male Melmacians, but it is still stereotyping.

Besides, if male Humans did read your profile, would they see anything in it that is positive, that would inspire them to contact you? No, not if your profile remains the way that it is right now. It is currently full of negativity.

I didn't make a post to ask anyone to critique my profile. I'm pretty sure I seen a rate me thread.

women do it too, i get emails/chats and the first thing they ask me is "where are you from?" lol, it's the first thing it says on my profile... drives me nuts

In the OP, she doesn't say "99.9% of the men she talks to". Instead, she says, "you MEN", meaning all men on this site.

Actually mightymoe is correct. I actually ment by " you men" as the people who actually have messaged me. Not the entire site. Is that my error probably. I'm a grown woman and can accept my error with no problem.
So mightymoe you know what I mean by it's frustrating when say they ask you where you live when it's right there in your pf?
So instead of insinuating I am " stereotyping" , and complains how much my pf sucks maybe, just maybe you can see the bigger picture here and again not look so much into something.
