Found a Maiden, seemed cold of heart
Locked away behind her walls
Set herself away, set herself apart
Alone to roam her castle's halls

Came to be not far away
Watched her, wondered why the cold
I feared to speak, kept at bay
Waited for story to be told

Wondered what her tale would be
Wondered at her smile's beauty
Wondered if she'd speak with me
Wondered if she could be for me

Gate finally opened, she wandered out
We spoke of life and the hardship
Found why in her heart a drought
Formed together a bond, kinship

As we spoke I came to see
Dragon's heat the facade could heat
Melt away the mask we see
A Dragon's heart became complete

Now I long to leave this lair
Fly to her, show her a Dragon's care
Have wings envelope Maiden fair
Our time on earth together share

A Dragon searching for a friend
Sought nothing else you understand
Found something better in the end
Placed his heart in Maiden's hand
