Topic: A Wiccan's View On September 11 | |
---|---|
This was written and posted by my dear friend Windi on her myspace blog..I felt the need to share this....stop for a moment today and light a candle
September 11.. I chose Category: Life In little more than a few short hours, begins the hardest day of the year for many families and many lives. September 11th. Remembering September 11th is not about whether or not one supports the efforts in Iraq or if one thinks Bush is right or wrong. Remembering this day is about losing innocense. The beautiful innocent lives of those who lived, worked and tried to save others. And some people are still dying. Some of the rescue and recovery workers have developed horrible lung diseases with no cures or treatments. Even those who simply live in and around lower Manhatton who survived the crashes are coming down with skin rashes and lung illnesses. Then there are the loved ones left behind that are still dying bit by bit inside from the loss of those they loved and needed and depended on. I choose to remember this day in honor. I choose to remember this day as the day America came together to help one another without thought of personal gain. The day the average person grabbed hold of the person next to them though only a stranger and helped them make it down flights of stairs and thru dust filled streets of rubble. I choose to remember this as the day some brave people decided they owned thier destiny and over took a plane full of hijackers rather than letting evil decide thier fate. A day when we all realized, even if only for a day, not to take for granted the people we see everyday. As u go about your own lives tomarrow, please take a second for a moment of silence or to light a candle in rememberence. ~ Thank u Blessed Be_ Windi |

Collateral Damage??
Hmm. Collateral damage: Damage done to property and civilian life during a military operation against military targets. Where exactly was the military target? This was a sensleless attack on civilian personnel. If terrorists want to be soldiers then maybe they render themselves identifiable and attack military installations. Let a goat get killed in Iraq or Afghanistan and it's a major stink. But it's alright for Tangos to attack civilians? Get a reality check. Now back to the point of Remembering the Dead and not the politics. |

Very nicely put Karma, and lets remember that it was not only Americans who lost their lives on 9/11 there were people from many countires killed in this senseless attack. I was online tonight in another forum with a lady from Canada who lost her fiance in the Towers. She was 3 blocks away when it happened.
