There I was, In the middle of preparing to bread and fry porkchops for me and the kids. I realized that I was out of breadcrumbs!!
What to do? I saw the box of HoneyNut Cheerios and crushed them up. Not bad. |

Hi BigGlen...well here is few tips that my mom and grandmother taught me.....corn flakes...crush them in a ziplock bag and season them.....rice crispies, do the same as you would for the corn flakes.....or, take bread, toast it in the oven, place it in a blender and pulse it a few times, homeade bread crumbs....hope this helps you a bit.....take care...Miss Kississippi

(((BigG)))Hiya!
We always do ours in Egg then flour, Lowrey's seasoning salt & lil pepper in bag & shake good. enough bacon grease to cover pan. brown good on both sides. add about 1in. water. turn down heat to medium & cover. Let them cook 30 -45 minutes. in something that seals (jar,cup/lid) a cup or 2 of milk add a cup of used flour shake until flour mixes in no clumps.. take meat out on platter. pour milk/flour into pan with drippings stir with wire whip until mix well. keep on med.heat, stirring often. Until flour is cooked.. it will thicken as it goes. put meat back in gravy. normally the meat will fall apart.. |
