PASSION

I asked God how may I find true love
He replied, my son first seek it in your heart
It must be there in your future
I know I put it there when I gave you your start

I sought but could not find it
And so I turned to God again
He shook his head quite sadly
And said I hope you will find it elsewhere then

You must have misplaced it in your travels
That took you so far upon My Earth
Perhaps you lost it among your sorrow
Perhaps you may yet find it somewhere close to mirth

You must seek it in the sunshine
You must seek it in the rain
It might be there next to loneliness
You might yet find it beside pain

But even though I looked and looked
It found it was not there, should I look again ?
He said you must look until you find it
If it is not a matter of if, but only a matter of when

Time went by, my life went by
Many people crossed my path
I asked each if they had found it
Many said yes, it was nowhere near to wrath

We found it in our children
We found it in husband and wife
We worked so hard but it was worth it
It rewarded us with new life

I sighed but was renewed in my search
I called on my memories to light my way
One memory stood above the rest
And in that memory I again heard God say

My son first seek it in your heart
It must be there in your future
I know I put it there when I gave you your start

And so I looked to my heart once more
And this time found my heart was filled
With the love I thought I must have lost
On some remote and lonely shore

I shouted to God, I found it just this very day !
He wisely nodded His head
Yes my son, it was always there
And as a reward you have also found passion along the way
