That's right, ladies and gents, I have officially crawled out from under my rock and began poking my toe in the tepid social pool. Not quite at the point of diving in yet, but thought I'd leave a message and see where I get.

I only signed up to this site about 30 minutes ago. I'm mostly here to build friendships (possibly with a view to develop a relationship) but friendship is certainly the main focus.

I am from Greater Manchester in the UK if that makes any difference to you. There's also a whole lot of waffle on my profile if you want to read a little more about what went on in my brain at the profile writing stage.

Feel free to tell me a little (or a lot) about you and what brings you here :D

Now how can I tempt you to want to get more than your toe wet in the social pool.
Get undressed and jump in the waters warm!!!

(Side note: it could be freezing depends what end you jump in)

If you jump in, it only feels cold for a minute, I guess... haha.

I hope that you're not being rude there, G.A... :O

I stayed in Manchester before. Whitefield for 3 months, then West Didsbury for 4 months. Also worked in London for nearly 10 years also. As long as its the social pool Lost and not an outside one with our British weather, you'll be like a Smurf in 5 minutes? Ha ha. Greek, you look like a guy that used to pop into my local pub in Chapel market, Islington? Back staying in Scotland, now though. Best of luck to you two anyway, ok? drinker

Hay larsson. It could have been me as I was born in the eastend.
How weird would that be?
And thanks for your well wishes.
Hope you also find what your looking for.

Funny you should mention that - I was Smurfette one year. That was fun!

I actually live a stone's throw from Didsbury :P

Best of luck to you also!

I used to stay just off Lapwing Lane, just down from the pub at the corner and the Lime Tree restaurant. The Tennis courts, were behind where I stayed Lost!

We were sub-contracting for the company Heyrod down there and working behind the Arndale Centre Lost. I've worked all over the UK, with my job, but Manchester, is some buzz? Best place i've worked in apart from my hometown Glasgow!

Aye, Manchester's pretty sound. I love how there's such a mixed bag of characters and interests. I'm yet to venture into Manchester and be bored. I could just sit on a bench and people-watch - so interesting! You could probably say that about a lot of cities really but Manchester will always have a special place in my heart, even if I move away, never to return.
