Ello, sorry, I know I'm not a girl, but as someone who has gotten dates on sites like this I wanted to just point out that a nice photo is really helpful. Then interacting more on the message boards, and above all, having a buttload of patience with yourself and others.


Also, it may not be your fault at all, really. I honestly don't believe this is the best site for meeting people that you hope to have a romantic interest in. If you're in the market for fun, quirky friends that are WAY too different from you to consider dating seriously then you've found heaven.

I've actually had a lot more success in what you're looking for on match.com (just get the three day trial, I've already got two dates from mine) and DateHookup.com -which is, remarkably, completely free. No upgrade crap or anything. I've connected with two rather nice young women on there and it looks like I'll be meeting one nearby pretty soon.

I agree with all of this. Most people you meet here will live at least 500 miles away, if you can even find someone you click with.

Ha, I had a friend who did that, got the free trial, emailed her butt off and eventually married one of the guys she found....always nice when someone has a happy ending.

No photo, you identify a lot of negatives, and out of mainstream interests it is not a big surprise you are not getting a lot of attention. Sorry.
