Y'know, Random, they say elections are fixed....

Of course, primaries are "steered".

What I mean by that is , in a primary, Democratic or Republican, no matter how many candidates are running, the brain trust of the parties, along with the media, only promotes two or three. For example:

Democrats: Republicans:
Hillary Clinton Rudy Guliani
Barak Obama Fred Thompson
John Edwards Mitt Romney

Currently, each of the 2 major parties have 10-12 candidates vying for the nomination. But you rarely hear about any of the others. Most Americans only think these 6 are running. When they hear of another candidate, they shy away, figuring they don't stand a chance, and here in America, everyone wants to back a "winner". It really IS a crying shame.

In 2000, I voted for Harry Browne, the Libertarian candidate. After the election, an investigation showed that while he didn't even come close to winning, the media grossly underreported his vote total. He actually got more votes than the Green Party candidate, which was funny, because a lot of Democrats blamed the Greens for costing Al Gore the election. The Green votes were more than counteracted by the Libretarian votes, which usually hurt Republicans.

Off the topic, a note to Al Gore: Thost who cannot win their own state cannot win a Presidential Election.

I think you pretty much nailed it Knox. Other countries have their national forms of entertainment, soccor, rugby, etc but nothing in the world can compare to American Polotics for sheer entertainment value laugh it has cheating, all kinds of sex, skullduggery, sinister plots, war, bribery, scandals, backstabbing, lies, intrigue, theft and corruption. It runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week with no reruns, there is a constant mix of old and new players to keep the game fresh and the wonderful part is it's all true and we all have a ringside seat.

This story is staged, and the accusations come from supporters of Ron Paul who are the worst at spreading fabricated stories!

They staged rallies in Texas outside the convention center and crashed other delegates speeches with chants of, "Ron Paul, Ron Paul" over the speeches given by the other candidates!

The so-called refused delegates were not delegates and were trying to get other delegates to take them in as guests. They thought if they could get this to happen they could crash the speeches in there!

They release straw poll results from states like NC when their is no officially recognized or sanctioned straw poll held!
It is an Internet poll and reserved for members of web-sites devoted to Ron Paul supporters! One such poll was held by Ron Paul supporters in a city park and charged $25.00 to get in! Since the large Ron Paul signs made it obvious to everyone that it was a Ron Paul rally, only devoted supporters were willing to pay the cost!

I watched the you-tube video and I kept wondering where is Ron Paul? Why isn't he standing up for the injustices?

I believe even he is embarrassed by these antics coming from his small number of supporters!

Go ahead Hate me, but play fair and quit with the all holds barred tactics to push Ron Paul down the throats of America! Some of us just aren't that naive, and see right through them!!drinker drinker

King there are a few good candidates running! just look around and you'll see them!

Look at what they stand for, they all arent liars! I honestly believe their are at least two who are honest and have a real plan to bring America back to her feet!

They have cut their special interest and business ties that would conflict with being President, unlike the neo-cons, and they plan on removing Lobbyist from Washington!

I wont tell you who to vote for, but I think Bill Richardson and John Edwards are worth your time to check out!drinker

i haven't done enough looking yet but between the candidates that i just don't want and candidates that won't ever be able to accomplish what they say they want to there aren't many left. i have looked through both of the candidates that you have mentioned but i have questions about their positions on a few things and haven't found any answers yet so i'm still open.

You'll never, not even in a perfect world, find a candidate that you agree with everything they do!

I havent made up my mind either, but Im leaning and watching both of these!

Who are you thinking adj4u??

i know i'll never find one that i completely agree with but i have a couple main points(iraq, free trade and social programs) that are most important and the info i have on their position has left me with some questions.

Well, Ive been studying all of the candidates, The ones that have sparked interest to me more so. I like both of Richardson and Edwards!
Edwards has a plan to tax companys who move out of the country! I wont go it to it all here, but give it a look!

I had thought about Ron Paul once upon a time, but studying his stances, and the half truths from his supporters and campaign turned me off big time!

He wants to eliminate the department of education from the federal government for one thing! I think we need more from the dept of education! (expand it dont eliminate it)

I think we need to allow stem-cell research and he is against that!

He is also against legalized abortion! I think thats a womans choice!

From his campaign you never hear all that, just half truths, lies, and conspiracy theories! They do more harm to his chances of winning than good! I hate to say it but I think they are just as bad as the neo-con Republicans! Propoganda filled with falsehoods and covered up by attaching words like liberty and freedom to their slogans!!!!

You know Edwards's house is being built with energy technology, he talks about raiseing taxes on everyone making more than $200,000 a year, this includes him, and he is far from the richest candidate, and concerning his SUV, he says this:

Edwards, who has been criticized by some for calling on Americans to be willing to give up their SUVs while driving one, acknowledged Sunday that he owns a Ford Escape hybrid SUV, purchased within the year, and a Chrysler Pacifica, which he said he has had for years.

"I think all of us have to move, have to make progress," he said. "I'm not holier-than-thou about this. ... I'm like a lot of Americans, I see how serious this issue is and I want to address it myself and I want to help lead the nation in the right direction."

He said he would not buy another SUV in the future.

The Ford Escape, the first hybrid SUV on the market, gets an estimated 36 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

He also just got rid of personal income holdings tied to lenders who are trying to foreclose on the homes of Hurricane Katrina victims.

And I said it once<

He proposes legislation that penalizes company's for taking American jobs and moving them out of this country!

He is no Hillary Clinton!
I believe him. How many politicans talk about raiseing their own taxes???
