In 2010 Detroilet had 1,111 violent crimes per 100,000 people. I can go 8 miles south of where I live to enter a war zone.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/johngiuffo/2011/10/03/americas-most-dangerous-cities/ Or better yet, if I want to take a short road trip north to Flint(glock) and see where there were 2700 violent crimes per 100,000 people. http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2013/09/flint_still_tops_in_nation_for.html Maybe Michigan can advertise these cities as a tourist attractions...."Come to Michigan and see what REAL CRIME LOOKS LIKE!!!!!!!!" or "Come to Michigan and see where crime isn't just an event, it's a profession." |

Maybe Michigan can advertise these cities as a tourist attractions...."Come to Michigan and see what REAL CRIME LOOKS LIKE!!!!!!!!" or "Come to Michigan and see where crime isn't just an event, it's a profession." And Detroit's convicted ex-mayor can be the poster child. |

The most dangerous state of all is the state of mind of the average citizen.

For instance in Canada; some of the more dangerous cities are on the coast or they are gang related. |

Why is the crime rate so high in Washington DC?

Why is the crime rate so high in Washington DC? Are you kidding?...That's where all the criminals are! Wasn't it nice of them to put up all that security to keep you from getting your hands dirty trying to arrest them? |

The city I was raised in is very poor and the crime rate is very high. Here where I live; people are poor but very few are in poverty so the crime rate is quite low. |
