A very real emotion that is common to a lot of men and women who lost a love. This has long gone for me now, but I did turn it into a country music song. It is a true story.
Hurting Blurry eyes, and an empty space, Your love has gone, without a trace, I sit here alone, with the pain in my heart, Just stare at the screen, as my days are dark. I let you in, like none before, I trusted you heart, when I opened that door, That door to my heart, had been closed for years, Locked, and never, to be exposed to more tears. You found the key, you found the way in, It gladdened your heart; you were destined to win, You taught me to love, all over again, You brought back my faith, in the Lords domain. Then just like the wind, you took it away, You left my to bleed, and had nothing to say, None have hurt more, there has only been two, One has long gone, so that leaves you. I maybe old, I maybe gray, I have a heart, that's aching today, How can I move on, with you in my mind? All I seek is a closure, but that I'll not find. No prayer, no answer, no song, no words, You just run away, like migrating birds, My plea to your heart, you did not read, It all went unanswered; I had met your needs. I still see your face; I still see your smile, I still hear your voice, and I will for a while, Our paths they crossed, but that was for you, Our time has ended, like a bolt from the blue. Thank you for reading...We had planned two weeks together just two hours before her e-mail to me saying, she was sorry but it's over. If our time together had gone well, as it should have, I was going to propose to this lady, but it never happened.... and I still don't know why. |

Thank you all, as I said it's over now and gone, but the lesson was valuable.

relates:( I am sorry that you have lost to shegoat, as many of us have. It saddens me to think that a relationship can go so far that it all crashes down and dissolves into nothing but hurt, especially when there are no answers. I often think of the reasons behind decisions people make, when it comes so close to spending the rest of your lives together, and how they allow such a relationship to go so far, and then just say, it's over. I truly feel for anyone who has experienced this demise. |

God bless you for sharing that. Infact it was more than a poem-very touching. It happened to me 2years ago and i've never seen such combination of words to define the experience like this.

Yes northernlights1 I am, It would have been much worse if she had have come out to Australia and we had spent 2 weeks together and then she had told me it was over when she returned back to her home. Thank you for your reply, it is appreciated. |

Just wandered back here after a short break, and found your "song." Love it. Know the feeling all too well. I have a brother who song-writes some, and loves a lot, and has been known to say that if a relationwhip gives him a good song, it's been worth it. Do you use the same name on YouTube? I'd love to hear your stuff.

Awesome poem. Sorry for your pain. I think you have a great talent for country music. It's the best. I've been were you were in my marriage and it's not fun. Glad to hear you've put it in the past

Unfortunately pain can create poetry and/or songs of beauty. But then again... poetry can help to vent and heal the heart a little faster. Glad you got over your pain... glad also that I was able to read your poem, I enjoyed it.
