we're only doing good b/c feely is in instead of mcnabb.

Mcnabb has the highest winning percentage of any quarterback in eagles history..... So he's been battling injuries and hasn't been himself....... Feely is not a better QB. He is having a good game though.

You guys should be happy Mcnabb didn't play. Feeley is much better

I love how everyone blames everything on McNabb. He's less than a year removed from ACL surgery, he's led the team to numerous NFC championships, he has the best record of any Eagles QB and yet all I hear is the abuse from fans day after day.
If McNabb had been in and lost the game with 3 interceptions especially the 2 late ones everybody would be saying how bad he sucked and how he's the worst QB ever. Feeley did a great job, but if he was so darned good he'd be a starter somewhere. |

I did not watch the game tonite - but I will say this about the Eagles. They match up with the Patriots better than any NFC team does because of their make-up. Feeley is a much more accurate quarterbak than McNabb - who's main asset is his mobility, and escapability. Obviously - Westbrook is the heart and soul of the Eagles, and it matters not who's behind center if he's having a good game. The Eagles have good corners, and a decent pass rush, much like the Colts - who also match up well with the Patriots. Teams with a moderate passing game (10-20 yards) and a "scat-back" running back are the hardest teams for the Patriots because they have an older linebacking core and are not known for team speed. There strength of defense comes through their complexity, and ability to confuse the QB's when they are not in max protection. This is why they masacre the younger inexperienced quarterbacks. Remember too - that the Eagles are still in the elite teams of the NFC, despite having an off season. But I think that you can start to say your farewells to Donavan, as this will be the last year he wears the Eagle green. I mean - they did draft a QB with their first pick this year - did they not?

Feeley did a great job but to say he's a much accurate QB is proposterous!!!! Look at his career completion percentage. It's a tad over 50%. Feeley had a good game but when he couldn't even get a spot on the Jets in preseason 2 years ago. And the Jets had no one besides Pennington that year. Also, when given the reigns in Miami, he was horrible. But, in the Eagles system, he has played ok. Back when he took over for McNabb a few years ago, he was 4-1 as a starter......but it was more because the defense played SUPERB than Feeley being the QB. The defense in that stretch was giving up something ridiculous like 10 points a game. But everyone loves to blast McNabb. Imagine if the Eagles would've drafted Ricky Williams instead of McNabb??? Then they would've had to start Doug Pederson, Williams would've still smoked his way out of the NFL and there wouldn't have been any NFC Championship games...blah blah blah

I never said the Eagles shouldn't have drafted McNabb - but he is not the prototypical pocket QB. And you have to admit that the offensive line for the Jets and the Dolphins is pitiful! It's why Mangini used a high first round draft pick on the O-line. I just think that with the O-line of the Eagles (which has won, what 5 straight division titles) that you get a chance to see what A.J. could be like. And right now - the best QB's in the league are pocket QB's. I just think that McNabb has lost a step with his injuries, and really - has to learn the position again and go back to fundamentals. (Which he's a tad lax on) Likely - a new team will remotivate him, and he's worth more on the trade market to the Eagles than he is behind center.

I actually agree I think it might be time to move on. But McNabb is a good QB. He won a lot of games for the Eagles. Feeley did well yesterday. The O-line did a fantastic job for him. And the receivers were catching balls. I was in shock. Take away a couple bad decisions, Eagles may very well have pulled off the shocker of the year.

Seahawks on sunday. Thoughts on this? and is Feely or McNabb playing? I saw that McNabb might not be ready for Sunday. I like both QB so I'm kinda in the middle on this one. Although I don't want Donovan playing until he is fully recovered and ready.
