so, that means half the homicides also come from NON blacks huh? and MOST of the crimes are intraracial,, so it makes more sense for blacks to fear EACH OTHER, and whites to fear EACH OTHER,, with that logic,,, why don't white employers hesitate to hire white males who are much more likely to lose it when they face loss of a job or relationship? why don't white women hesitate to date white men , who are much more likely to be serial killers? and how many people over all are murderers? still no reason to make homicidal tendency a racial thing,,,,or associate it with one race over another,,, This is the exact kind of nonsense that McWhorter was referring to.. 5% of the population commits 50% of the murders and you want to pretend that the other 95% of the population are equally deranged.. What a joke.. |

5% of the population commits 50% of the murders and you want to pretend that the other 95% of the population are equally deranged.. What a joke.. Look at those FBI statistics again. They don't say that 5% of the population commits 50% of the murders. Instead, they say, "Of the offenders for whom race was known . . .", as well as, "The race was unknown for 4,077 offenders." Also according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 13.1% of the people in the USA are black, not 5%, and 63.0% are white. Still, InvictusV has a point. According to the FBI, 13.1% (blacks) committed 52.4% of murders in which the race of the offender is known, while 63.0% (whites) committed 45.2% of of the murders in which the race of the offender is known. |

Hate crime or not? What difference does it make? The kid is still dead. His family is still grieving. His friends and strangers alike are still horrified about this tragedy, and rightly so. What does it matter what color he or the shooters were? I'm so sick of the battle of the statistics, of the finger pointing and name calling, of the excuses made for why the murdering thugs did it, so lets give 'em a break and feel bad for them instead of the victims!
 
Is it a hate crime? I'd say yes no matter whether it was racially motivated or not. Anyboday shooting anybody else for no reason has nothing but hate in their hearts. Period. End of story. Enough already about race. Murderers are murderers and they deserve death for taking life. It's that simple, or at least it SHOULD be...

well, murder is murder, but when they ONLY charge white's with hate crimes, it gets a little lopsided... My point exactly! Why do we even have such an asinine distinction? Murder is murder, whites or blacks involved. Isn't the murder itself evidence of hate? Why does it have to be against 'the other' race for it to be a hate crime? Aren't we all of the human race?
