John 8:32-" You will know the truth and the truth will set you free"
PART 1 I know the Truth, He dwells in my heart, and is the breath of life which sustains me. He is my resting place, my morning star, and a shield of hope who protects me. Although the winds scream in a raging storm, as the seas contend and rise, -He's there in the midst and calms me. And when I raise my hands and shout! In praise, with open arms He draws me. He is the graceful melody to this momentous song that is fluid upon my tongue. He has grafted into the wings of my heart, his name-The Christ; The First begotten Son. Yes, I know the Truth… He is a puissant silence, broken by the whispers of a troubled rain. A love which was trodden by selfish desires in morbid minds of the wicked and the insane. A calming peace and a lyrical freedom who dances on the rim of the wine presser’s flute, He's strumming a harp and singing in grace a song of a sweet and an everlasting truth. Yes… I know the Truth. PART 2 My prison doors have opened and lay aside to rust. Those binding chains have broken; now they've turned to dust. The walls of death released me; the king has set me free. In a great and majestic voice he said, "Son, you're free indeed!” I fell to my knees in reverence, my tears proclaiming joy, when the sound of mighty winds rushed in and fill the void. I raised my head to the heavens and saw an awesome crowd; a mighty legion of angels, rejoicing for me aloud. Caught-up by their splendor -so impressive were they all, as the rolling voice of thunder said, "Shawn, Stand up tall." I stood there for a moment as a tear formed in my eye; thinking to myself, is it time for me to die? An altar appeared before me, undefiled by human hands. It was covered by the blood of a sacrificial lamb. My heart began to weaken as I tried to apprehend, how a people could be so hardened as to rip a life from such a friend. I gazed upon the platform, and had a vision of this man; He was hung upon a cross, spikes nailed into his hands. I peered into his wounded eyes, as He stared back into me. In a faint and weakened voice he said, "I surrender my life for thee." Slowly lifting up his head, He released a feeble plea; a blood curdle cry through all his strength… “Eloi' Eloi’ 'lama sabachthani?” An eternal sadness overwhelmed my soul as my heart began to cry. Cascading tears and jostled nerves as I watch this good man die. A callous joy and a smell of wine; flowing from the crowd. Dancing, song and the rumbling of sin, as the Son of man was befouled. Twisted thorns upon his head, blood pouring into his eyes. Tormented flesh peeled from his bones, a spear thrust in his side. Living water onto the earth -a soldier finds the way. A thunderous clap and a violent shake; a oneness has been conveyed... Yes, I know the truth -He gave his life for me. Yes, I know the truth -He suffered all to set us free. Amen! Author: Me |
