Heaven’s Song


The fading sun’s light
slowly melded into a symphony of hues
that stretched out across the ocean’s gentle soul
as if it were the rhythm
that accompanied the soft winds
of the angels’ chorus
as they sung heaven’s song

Soon
this indelible moment in time
becomes a picture of the world’s beauty
as tiny
shimmering flecks
of secrets filled with wishes and hope
illuminate the distance
as the ebb and flow of the waves
removed the footprints of the journeyed path
so that time could welcome the night
with new dreams
and wonderment
