If you're trying to marry someone for visa reasons you must also ask yourself wha it is you would like to go there? If the answer is dunya, then you can judge where your life is heading. Mutah is not haram, it was halal in the time of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.H), but Omar made it haram.

For as often as I'm able to look-up every translation of 'The Women' or 'Ai Nisa' ... the verse 24 and beyond.
I've found no reverence to these verses as having anything to do with deliberately entering into a conjugal relationship with the understanding it's meant to be temporary.
Even if for some tragic reason this should be the case it still doesn't exempt that couple from going through all of the necessary formality of a divorce.

Yes, prostitution was around in Mohammad's day, but you have to remember the Neo-Pagan society of Arabia during this time would have given licence to any immoral activity. Eventually the 'clean path of Islam' would become the norm.
