I like to try new things. I would not eat dog or cat on purpose

I agree, but legend has it that a few years back in the border town across the river from us there was a shortage of beef and the population of strays was greatly reduced by the street taco vendors.

I once saw an article not long ago about a restaurant that got shut down after people complained about seeing them draging road killed deer into their place. hahaha
Was that in west Virginia. My friend that lives in wv says they do that

I don't remember where it was. I just know it was kind of a weird thing to hear about. One of those things you don't expect to hear about.

Don't quote me but I think roadkill venison is not legal.
It's not legal. Taking a road killed game animal as I understand it is considered poaching as I recall or goes under the same heading.
I believe you're correct.
It is only illegal if you get caught

Wiser words were never spoken. Hold my beer, watch this.
<<<runs out into the highway after roadkill venison. |
<<<regains consciousness in the middle of the road.
Did you get the license plates. |
I would say it's still illegal because until all the evidence is gone you can always get caught. You never know, there could be some deer hair left in the freezer that gets you into trouble.
Until you get caught

Deer hair my @$$, help me find my ear.

I think that coyote got it.
