Evil Dead 2 is mine. Oh, and I love The Evil Dead 1, 2, and Army Of Darkness. Hated the remake. I thought the remake is a good movie by itself but doesn't do a good job actually remaking the original. You can always tell when you are watching a Sam Raimi film and it did not feel like that. There is a group of SFX greats who are trying to fund a movie with no monster CGI, I'm pretty excited over that. **I just checked it and it looks like they made their goal, yay** Which movie? |

Paranormal Activity That is a good one. There is a free movie on youtube called "Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Nights" which I highly suggest if you don't mind subtitles. ok i will look that up :) Other good found footage worth checking out- The Tunnel (2011), and Amber Alert. |

I'm not much of a scary movie buff but I've always thought Poltergeist was a really cool movie. I'm sure it's pretty mild for you horror flick folks. |

Haha
Anything with creepy dolls, or ventriloquist dummies creep me out. Magic with Anthony Hopkins, and the segment "The Ventriloquist's Dummy" in the 1945 anthology Dead Of Night are two of the best. And the Zuni Doll in Trilogy Of Terror. |

An underrated haunted house flick is Burnt Offerings (1976).

Fair warning: WOMAN In Black flick has tons of creepy kids, creepy dolls and freaky gothic imagery. Was alone in the house with some popcorn and decided to watch it....huge mistake, cuz one of the jump scares literally made me jump! Popcorn was ruined as the whole bowl was on the floor, but I sat thru the whole movie, swept up the popcorn, and had a bit of trouble sleeping that night for sure. I remember the Zuni doll, that last shot of the possessed chick sitting on the floor FREAKED ME OUT as a young'n! lol |

Cant mention horror without mentioning Neil Marshall's original The Descent.
SIX CHICKS WITH PICKS! (check the DVD special features documentary for that little reference!) Plus does anyone have a fave SCENE from a fave horror movie? Mine is probably the scene in Jaws where Chief Brody sees the shark for the first time and freaks out...backs ups slowly....and says to Quint.... "You're gonna need a bigger boat." I laugh every time! |
