Some of you know I used to work in the spay and neuter movement. I worked with some people who were very fussy about what they fed their animals. When we had that big foreign meat recall, Purina was one of the few that only used domestic meat and was safe.

My question is:

I have had MANY animals live LONG LONG HEALTHY LIVES on just plain old Purina. Has anybody else had this experience??

My pug lived until he was 16 or so and all he ate was Purina...Particular mutt wouldn't eat much else.

Not sure if there would be a big difference between Purina or something similar from anywhere else though.

Just don't overfeed your cat, or else you might end up with this:

That's true...My cat turned into Godzilla Cat because I fed him too much.

He was effin' huge!

Purina has always been good dog food. Many of my dogs have lived long lives on that stuff.

What to know a little secret? Old Roy, is made by Purina. Put the two together, and you can't tell the difference. Neither can your dog. But your wallet sure will!

Purina puppy has been tolerated by my dog better than several of the so called highly rated chows that put a real dent in my budget.

Putting the savings in a credit union means I credit worthy if a vet emergency happens.

And stacking two construction buckets under table skirts in my den means my online purchase is big enough for free home delivery and a cheaper per pound price. Win + win.

The SPCA is more than glad when I put Purina in new puppy baskets for their fund raisers. (Tip dollar store roasting bags make it a snap to do the small basics baskets. )
