Is there such an age too old for women to have children especially over 40 although she still menstruates? Should she stop having children especially if her adult children are procreating and she's already a grandmawhat

Whether or not a woman is too old depends on the state of her physical health. My late wife was age 40 when she gave birth to my son.

I've heard that women should not give birth after 40 but health & genetics could dictate otherwise. I was born to parents at age 40 & was a healthy & normal baby.

I know several women who gave birth in later years, and each case the baby was healthy

I say if the body is still willing, and the mother is healthy (at any age), the risks should be minimal....

depends on the woman. Talk to a doctor and go from there. Woman have been having babies until they no longer could for centuries.

Well, I'm 40 and I just had a baby, and I feel great! I was healthy before hand, and take care with my health. It is a different experience, being older, but it's been pretty smooth sailing.

What do you feel the limiting factors should be? It has been my experience that a person's age is not a good indicator of how well they parent.
