I must stay sober. Most difficult thing about being sober? Learning how to express myself sober! It does get easier for me though. I just write and write and write.... |

Yes journaling very healthy for your sobriety its very highly recommended, also to go out of your confort zone. People often feel awkward at first in a lot of areas in their life, its thought of by many, to be a lot of hard work but eventually its not forced anymore, it just becomes a lifestyle. Its just life and life is what happens when your busy making plans. As they say in AA fake it til ya make it. Seen too many of those die! Bet you have heard about F.I.N.E. http://www.all-acronyms.com/FINE/tag/alcoholics_anonymous Re: F.I.N.E. , actuely I hadn't , I did enjoy them, its amazing how quit one can climb the list, liked the ones they had for AA & the acronym for Alcoholic, I will have to type some in Thanx "God" give me the severity to except the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Keep coming back, it works! Right on, big smile says it all to me Your in Eruope Conrad? Me, I'm from UK but grew up in Ca, I should say growing up I'm a late blommer..lol |

Sometimes when I tell someone i'm an alcoholic, the response is similar to admitting I have something like an S.T.D. Other people are cool. Admitting it does weed out the jackasses;-) How does that saying go? You are what you think you are. I don't think it is a good thing to make a statement like that, but then I could be a jackass. |

Sometimes when I tell someone i'm an alcoholic, the response is similar to admitting I have something like an S.T.D. Other people are cool. Admitting it does weed out the jackasses;-) Well I guess there's a lot of variables, how "far along"you are in your recovery, I think If you have A fair bit of clean time and you believe in yourself then most others should respect and support you and if they cant then, yes, their jackasses. If, say your going for a job and they've been burned before, then they might not be willing to take a chance on you. Same goes with relationships, if I was 5 years clean and I meet someone and liked her alot but she was Only 3weeks clean, then we'd both be fools. |

Just a friendly reminder to all keep the pictures within the forum rules... I have deleted a picture that was against the forum rules at this time. Pictures of people doing drugs are against the site rules..... Site Mod Kristi Moreover is thread will be a lot more to recovering alcoholics/addicts than a place to drop a simple 2cents Its on going treatment and therefore should be treated in the highest regards including common rules that hold merrit in any addlction treatment facility or organized commonity meatings. 1) (((no war stories))) ..been graphic about the times you used 2)(((no glorifying)))....how good it was...the good times 3)(((no judging))).... 4)(((uses of I word))) I, instead of "you should"..I sometimes do it this way. I take my sobriety realy serious as do others. |
