Hi all...I'm new here. I have a question: I am getting a red message on my main page on here that says my email address is invalid and to submit a new one. However, the email address worked fine yesterday and I received mail notifications at that email address this morning just fine. It stopped around midday and when I went onto the site, I saw I did have mail. My questions are (a) is anyone else having this issue and (b) can my email address for mail notifications be the same name as my user name? It was working fine and now not!

I don't have either of the issues but if you can find Mike on here maybe he can help you since he must work here.

Sorry no help here.

But welcome to the site.

Hi ballet,

No, never had that problem.

Possibly you can use a different
e-mail address.

I probably wouldn't use
the same e-mail address
as my user name.

The reason for this is,
of course, anonymity.

For example, if someone
used butterfly57 as
their username and
butterfly57@yahoo.com
as their e-mail address,
someone could possibly
discover your e-mail
address through lucky
guess, data mining, or
process of elimination.

Hope this is helpful.

THANKS, mnhiker, that does help and I agree about the email address but nonetheless, it's odd that it was working fine last night and earlier today and now not.

You'll see that message when we've tried to email you, but the emails have bounced back to us. Usually that will be the result of an invalid email address, but occasionally that can also happen for other reasons such as your mailbox is full, your email is temporarily down, etc.

If you are sure that your email address is correct and that you are receiving emails properly, just change your email address to something else on JustSayHi, then change it back to your original address and verify it. If it was a temporary problem that was corrected, follow those steps and your emails will get delivered to your original email address again.
