Cuba........water like Cancun........very beautiful country. Amazing archietecture (SP) and amazing people. The graveyards were very interesting....and a bit grotesque. Families own one plot and when one dies, they are put ontop of the other dead....

I met alot of people in the hotel industry only to find out that they are actually trained professors in the universities.....only there english wasnt as good as I had expected. Most know at least 5 languages.

Yes Raul already has temporary control but "nicer"- depends who you ask... I have heard he is a torturer but that's just rumors among ex-pats...

But the Cubans here don't believe Raul can hold the country/people so they are very excited for Fidel to die...

Most of the Cuban people here are very interested in cultural issues as well- e.g. their appreciation for art, music, dance, etc. is, I would say, must greater than the average americans... did you find that to be true?

The graveyards do sound bizarre- but they do some similar things in New Orleans-but I believe it is only ashes that share crypts, not bodies.

Its a very oppressed country!!! Even their mail is read......everything has to be a secret. I felt so bad for them...I had a girl corn row my hair and I gave her $20....I think she asked for $5 but I think she had to split it with some of the other hotel workers because they were keeping "an eye" out........she was supposed to be doing laundry. I asked her what she needed......she said tylenol.....imagine that!!!! She had bad migraines...its all sold on the black market there. Pfffffft @ the healthcare....when you cant afford the meds!!!!

Yes I know evertime we have a hurricane we get footage of the preparations being performed in Cuba- they are very sad because there is nothing for the people to do to prepare- if they are lucky they get some plywood but mostly it's just "keep your head down under your bed and pray"....

You wouldn't necesarily think of a "francois" as a good salsa dancer but he is actually from Venezuala and he is a good dancer... I think that's why he's so slow with the drinks.. he's busy offering to teach some other blonde to salsa...
