The only way we would clash, is difference in understanding marriage. If he's been married, and I haven't, I may have a hard time gauging what he's talking about if marriage ever came up. Otherwise, I have no opinion on it.

I suppose time will tell....we are searchers on here....the toughest part of the journey is figuring out what it is we are serching for...or whom :)

LOL! There are days when I wonder about that myself.

But in all seriousness, yes I do think that on average older guys tend to be more emotionally mature than younger ones. Or perhaps a better way to put this is that up until the age of about forty or so, a man and a woman who are the same age will often have a emotional maturity gap, and the woman will often be the more mature partner. (Note that all of this is just "on average". Nothing I say here should be taken as definitive.) Past the age of fortysomething, that gap generally narrows and closes.

When I was in my twenties and early thirties, I had relationships with guys older than myself, guys my own age, and some guys younger than myself. There was generally an emotional maturity gap between me and the ones who were younger, and often even with the ones who were my own age. Not so much with the ones who were two or more years older than I was.

Then when I was thirty-five I began a relationship with the man who is now my ex-husband. I'm not quite a year older than he, and have to say there was a maturity gap between us as well, although over the decade-plus we spent together it narrowed and closed.

Obviously, all this is based on my own personal experience and observations. Your mileage may vary.

Most Younger men want Younger women. Older men also desire younger women, but they don't always get that option.

Personally, I think that if I can have a good friendship with a woman I could also have a romantic relationship with her. Women apparently tend not to see it that way but I think that that's down to us having different views about friendship. I'm extremely picky when it comes to friendships; probably more so than I am about girlfriends.

Say what. I think I must be the only one getting any on these forums. I date several ladies none over 35.

I prefer women around my age who are in the same realm of experiences and in the same station of life. I would be open to dating someone younger but they would have to be mature.
