Topic: How would you describe the current cultural perspective on s | |

that people worry about it too much and some never really learn what it really is. there should be more emphasis on intimacy
and all these questions and threads with sex questions seem highschoolish on an adult site ......unless of course you wanna talk about the time that goofball and the armenian waitress got caught in the backseat of .... well nevermind.....but unless we can talk about the good stuff the topic gets boring |

How would you describe the current cultural perspective on sex? If it feels right, do it. Which is really wrong. Imo Immorality is rising. |

How would you describe the current cultural perspective on sex? The cultural perspective on sex hasn't changed since the time of Adam. The only difference is more people are doing it, and more people are talking about it. It seems some folks are really hung up on sex, on who's doing it and who they are doing it with. Truth is sex is just a natural bodily function like taking a good healthy dump when the need arises. Sometimes it's a really good feeling. Sometimes it just happens to be something ya just gotta do. |

2. Everything goes besides children and animals. Well said. Soooooo...animals ain't supposed to have sex? How the hell do you people expect to get puppies and kittens? Religion is soooo unrealistic. Krupa, the statement that you responded to means "Everything goes besides pedophilia and bestiality." |

I have similar thoughts. Humans are sexual beings; they are also curious and pleasure-seekers (non-judgemental statement). Everything goes in cycles. We are now in a cycle where people are talking more about what they are doing sexually ( as opposed to the 1950's). If you look at the representation of sex in art (paintings, plays, etc.), there are trends depending on the era, and the geography of the artist. |

How would you describe the current cultural perspective on sex? Well I think... ...just about covers most of them. |

I never really gave a damn about it. I can take or leave it. It's not a necessity for me. I have more important things to worry about.

I vote for dogs, cats and goats.....humans got nothing...except for hatred of animals making love. :) Gotta love animals. They make the world a better place :D |

If sex was more like stealing or murder it would be easier for me to state an opinion, but it's not. There has been so much guilt laid out there on this topic in the name of all that is religiously correct, but when I look deeper I don't see the same interpretations many others do. I'm glad I'm not gay cause I would hate to live with this heaping guilt people throw. Fact is, I know some real spiritual people who are gay. Because I'm not, can I really judge them for something that doesn't feel right for me, but seems to fit them like a glove? People say it's demonic, well I see people getting smashed and looking for a red neck fight being demonic. People making love I don't see the same way. Cheating I can see as wrong, getting drunk in a bar and looking for a selfish fix I can see as wrong, but the same sex thing....I might have to wait and ask that question at the end of my time here.

Since when do dogs and cats have morals, sex today is no different than it ever has been since man first begun.

The man who despises himself tries to gain self-esteem from sexual adventures—which can’t be done, because sex is not the cause, but an effect and an expression of a man’s sense of his own value . . .
The men who think that wealth comes from material resources and has no intellectual root or meaning, are the men who think—for the same reason—that sex is a physical capacity which functions independently of one’s mind, choice or code of values. They think that your body creates a desire and makes a choice for you just about in some such way as if iron ore transformed itself into railroad rails of its own volition. Love is blind, they say; sex is impervious to reason and mocks the power of all philosophers. But, in fact, a man’s sexual choice is the result and the sum of his fundamental convictions. Tell me what a man finds sexually attractive and I will tell you his entire philosophy of life. Show me the woman he sleeps with and I will tell you his valuation of himself. No matter what corruption he’s taught about the virtue of selflessness, sex is the most profoundly selfish of all acts, an act which he cannot perform for any motive but his own enjoyment—just try to think of performing it in a spirit of selfless charity!—an act which is not possible in self-abasement, only in self-exaltation, only in the confidence of being desired and being worthy of desire. It is an act that forces him to stand naked in spirit, as well as in body, and to accept his real ego as his standard of value. He will always be attracted to the woman who reflects his deepest vision of himself, the woman whose surrender permits him to experience—or to fake—a sense of self-esteem . . . . Love is our response to our highest values—and can be nothing else. The doctrine that man’s sexual capacity belongs to a lower or animal part of his nature . . . is the necessary consequence of the doctrine that man is not an integrated entity, but a being torn apart by two opposite, antagonistic, irreconcilable elements: his body, which is of this earth, and his soul, which is of another, supernatural realm. According to that doctrine, man’s sexual capacity—regardless of how it is exercised or motivated, not merely its abuses, not unfastidious indulgence or promiscuity, but the capacity as such—is sinful or depraved. Just as an idea unexpressed in physical action is contemptible hypocrisy, so is platonic love—and just as physical action unguided by an idea is a fool’s self-fraud, so is sex when cut off from one’s code of values . . . . Only the man who extols the purity of a love devoid of desire, is capable of the depravity of a desire devoid of love. http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/sex.html Or,more crude! As Chuck Colson put it! "If you have them by their Balls, their Minds and Hearts will follow"! |

Sex between two consenting adults and that includes man/woman man/man woman/woman is a matter for them alone. If it doesn't harm , cause grief or cost anyone else then that is OK . Religion has caused more grief and harm than sex has.
Sex is good Sex is healthy, I am using as a means to keep fit. |
