      America is a huge country.

And Las Vegas is a big city. What do you want to see and do? |

Once you see Las Vegas, the rest of the America might seem drab. Going to Las Vegas is like going to disney land. Its all fantasy. It is not the "real America."

If you want to see America, you will need a car, and you will do a lot of driving. Colorado has beautiful mountains. Texas and Kansas and southeast Colorado is a vast flat prairie with cactus. Miles and miles of nothing but wide open spaces. You can almost see forever. The east coast is nothing but trees and bushes and swamps. Between those places, you will see a lot of country roads, farms, cities etc. |

vegas is a pit - a blight on the beauty of the desert. America is huge. it would take many if us several days to get to vegas

except that I would NEVER go to vegas - not in a million years not in a billion the best advice I have is to see as much elsewhere as you can

     Hidden canyon in Colorado:
Is this not the piece of bark they used for that scene in 'Dirty Dancing'? |

I was thinking New Orleans first? Really? The city built below sea level that was destroyed by a hurricane? Good choice.

Come to Colorado, God's country. Enter through Denver, and go see the towns in the Mountains if you are not afraid of winding mountain roads.

Go to the hot springs, go skiing. Go river rafting. Fun Fun Fun. |

I was thinking New Orleans first? Drunks, addicts, psychopaths, crazies, schizophrenics, .... But what do I know, I've never been there. Its just the impression I have gotten talking to people about it. |
