Topic: The Alarm Phone | |
---|---|
I was talking to my Alicia with no designated hour to be up and no one to be told to get up, get dressed, brush your hair, brush your teeth. A heaven if there is one, right here under the covers, covers that shield from the cold and frozen rain outside. I stretch and point my toes and then return to the fetal position as I relish this Saturday morning, until...the dreaded cell phone rings. Alicia's cell phone with a ring that is as annoying as the dentist's drill or the evacuation alarm prompted by the smoke of a very fast moving fire. This cell phone is my tracking device. It is used to investigate my whereabouts through a child. It tells if I am naughty or nice so I had better be nice. It is a device to instill fear, and I am unable to silence it. I can only hope the battery dies and the charger mysteriously disappears. A cell phone, more powerful than a locomotive, but can it withstand the weight of my Mazda? |
