Unfortunately, or actually I guess it's fortunate in a way, I will never understand the logic that drives genocides. the "scape goat" mentality escapes me so I cannot understand that either. Again, then, why did the general population follow Hitler? _________ I understand more money is spent on preparation for warfare, but I do not agree that it is because war *should* have more money spent on it. It is *cheaper* to maintain a diplomatic corps primarily because under our (and other countrys) current systems they do so little. They could do much more- work with humanitarian orgnaizations to internally increase a potentially volatile countrys economy, education, basic needs and personal safety- the lack of which is almost always a primary factor in starting violence... |

WWI - Assassination WWII - Land grab Nazis Korean - Land grab by Communists Vietnam - Land grab by Communists Iraq I - Land grab by Saddam (War for Oil) Afganistan - War on terror (Safty of the US and western world) Iraq II - War on terror (Safty of the US and western world) Wars are sometimes fought for national security, but almost always fought for power and land. The two wars in the past century that were actually fought for national security have been lambasted by the media and become the most divisive issue in our lives. |

I agree with everyone that the main, and unspoken, point of war is money. Why else would Bush be in Iraq other than gas? Obviously what he has told us is a lie.
