Life goes on
One day at a time
From one experience
To the next

Will we treat each other with respect?

Do we have enemies?
Do we want them as friends?
If we’ve erred against them
Do we know how to make amends?
Will we even bother?
Do the people in our lives
Really matter that much?

Sometimes
When we’re in pain
Anger can make us temporarily insane
And we can react rashly
Hurting others, and ourselves, rather badly
~ ~
As tempers and feelings wane
Can we pick up where we left off again?
~ ~
Is it really possible to forgive and forget?
To move forward without any regret
Or will the past remind us of time ill spent?
As we relive the rape of our innocence
~ ~
If we leave part of our selves in the past
How much future confidence will we have?
~ ~
Will we once again find love?
Or
Wait for it to come to us?
~ ~
Will we be afraid to give love?
Or
Will we know when?
And who it’s okay to trust?
~ ~
As children
We oft get more than enough
As adults
We have to be more generous
~ ~
With love
~ ~
To get
We have to give
~ ~
There’s no other way around

I see a lot to talk about. It's overwhelming.

To talk to an enemy you have to open your heart to receive, but pride and fear can take over an prevent it.

Yes, quite overwhelming... so how do we humans overcome the fear that pride is protecting?

I respectfully disagree... one can still love, and be afraid of the love of the other... if we distrust...
