Once upon a time I wanted a boob job, lipsuction, a tummy tuck etc. I religioulsy watched Extreme Makeover, Fat Doctor, Supersize vs Siperskinny and any other show that was related to changing your body. And then one day, I was reading and came across this line, "A man who sees ****, does not see cellulite"... It was an Oprah AHA moment for me. Now I'm too busy living to be slouching around in my schlumpa dinkas wishing I too was rich enough to afford a boob job.
Some women may feel they aren't enough for themselves or others, the way they are, and seek to change, decrease or enhance what they have. I'm enough for now. Maybe tomorrow, I'll think differently but today, I'm okay. |

This? I am hiding behind this little gadget. Im Not very open to public verbally. Well you're an attractive woman and I'm sure you have plenty to offer a mate. I think all of us would agree. If you show people you meet in person just a fraction of the personality that we know you to possess, I can't imagine anyone not liking you. Thank you hippie and cynde. I just cant imagine when someone retocated her face just to improve confidence. I understand kahurangis' point but the problem is its an inner problem. You cannot solved it by changing your outer physique. |

Well I have to say that cosmetic surgery is done in excess in general.
The most glaring examples being Michael Jackson's nose and multiple facelifts of Joan Rivers and the like. The rampant use of breast implants is surely ridiculous in my opinion because I don't think that one has to have large breasts to be attractive. I am more of a leg man. On the other hand, it doesn't bother me all that much if any individual who can afford it chooses to spend their money on a facelift, tatoo, breast implants or hair transplant. These cosmetic procedures are really not essentially different from hair dye or a pedicure and nail polish. We all do things to affect our appearance be it depilatory shaving, tooth whitening, clothing or eyeliner. It is really only a matter of degree. Personally, I do not wish to spend excessively in this area for myself but if it enhances someone's self-image and improves their life by making them feel better about taking care of themselves and the ravages of time and life experience on their bodies in various ways then I don't think we should guilt trip anybody. Live and let live you know....And may we all find comfort and happiness. |

Youre right. Its not my intention to guilt-tripped them im sorry if i did. I just state my disagreement to the act. Even if i disagree after all its their choice.

Don't get me wrong. I did not find anything bad at all about your
posts. I think body modification is overdone in general too. I have advised several friends that they did not need it at all and usually they decided to do it anyway and I told them that if they decided it was important to them that it would not bother me at all even if I thought they were beautiful enough without any additional body work! |

Thank you hippie and cynde. I just cant imagine when someone retocated her face just to improve confidence. I understand kahurangis' point but the problem is its an inner problem. You cannot solved it by changing your outer physique. I'm at the other end of the spectrum on that one Winlei. I can't imagine anybody going to great lengths such as plastic surgery or body enhancements just to pull a man. I think that altering ones image for their own confidence and self esteem is far more commendable. It suggests to me that they have identified a possible 'issue' that they have and are making an attempt to do something about it for their own benefit....rather than looking for validation from someone who can see no further than the physical aesthetics. |

Agree. What im saying is what is wrong in the inside cannot be repaired on the outside but to learn to overcome and accept what is given. |
