MG, I am most certainly disgrunttled when I see that someone actually voted to remove you guys from this site (I know it was an innocent thread)even temporary. I do not know you personally, but I used to read your threads and posts. Both of you.
I for one am thinking seriously about deactivating because of the stupidity. I do no one harm, yet sometimes feel stepped on. I am ashamed that this is happening to someone as nice as you.

Folks -

I think there's been a huge misunderstanding here.

First, Michael's topic WAS in the wrong forum. I specifically posted in the General Discussion forum that topics like "Hi", "Who's on tonight", etc. should be posted in the Chit Chat forum, not the General discussion forum.

I'm sure that Michael, having been away from the site for a while, did not know that the new Chit Chat forum had been created, and that I had asked people to post "Hi" topics in that forum instead. So he posted it in General which is where a topic like his would have gone back when he was last on the site.

Next, some of our members CORRECTLY voted for his topic to be deleted because it was in the wrong forum. I'm sure it wasn't meant as an insult to him, it was simply meant to inform him that it was placed in the wrong forum.

I don't think this should be interpreted as some sort of character issue on the part of the JustSayHi community. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine for not making it more clear to all members that the Chit Chat forum is the right place for these types of topics.

The issues with the deletion system have almost exclusively come from topics that were deleted for being in the wrong forum. The topics themselves are fine, but they get deleted because they were placed in the wrong area. The original poster, very understandably, is upset by this. But the people who voted meant no offense: if we had given them a "move" option, most likely they would have much preferred to move the topic instead. But since their only option was to delete it, they did that instead.

To solve this, we're going to add a "Move topic" option for moderating topics. Hopefully, that'll remove most of these types of misunderstandings.

I haven't been posting as much recently owing to personal reasons. Just wanted to say that I had a thread DELETED recently. which I accepted.
I also agree with Mike that as mg and bonnie have been away for a while, they may not have been aware of the changes.

If you, Michael and Bonnie do leave us again. Then once again it will be OUR loss.

But one should not base one thing that happens against what there decisions are or the actions they take. Sometimes there are good reasons for actions that were taken.

So think about it before you make a hasty retreat the love is still here no fighting lately just a few that seems to have the wrong views that a woman is beneath them instead of beside them in life. Other than that its all good.!!!
