This makes me sad. In my humble opinion the ads and banners I've seen for dating sites do a very good job of killing any hope us "real" women have of meeting a genuine and good man on a dating site. Real women have curves. Real women are soft and warm and have flaws. The saddest part...real women deserve love too.
As for what women are scared of...I'm not as worried about meeting a serial killer as I am of meeting a complete fake and phony who lies to me and presents himself as something that he's not. I guess it all boils down to honesty. A very rare thing to find in the real world...much less on a dating site. And btw...welcome to Mingle. |

Or meeting a psycho who thinks she's a spiritual medium, and ignores you for the voices in her head... Can't say that was a fear of mine ahead of time, but DID turn out to be my worst experience, lol.

Hey,
thanks for posting back and sharing. There are all sorts online and in the real world. It makes it exciting though can be disappointing. I can't say I've had a bad experience with online dating other than a woman who wanted casual sex and a few where the convo was so awkward that we both just wanted to say good-by lol! There are a lot of banners at this site (?) and when I click on, get redirected to join another dating or intimate encounters site-kinda weird and annoying. Part of being honest I think is being gracious and kind in telling someone that you're not that attracted to him or her. It can be something as simple as talking about long-term compatibility-even if the main reason is that the chemistry or physical attraction is just not that strong or not mutual. It's happened to everyone I think. That's where for me, it's not about being honest-it's just how to be truthful and kind. Am not saying that factors into the real women comments below. Even typing about it isn't that easy. It can also be due to values and personality where two people don't "click" enough and one person breaks it off (perhaps not being truthful). One woman was attractive and when I was at her house I noticed her house was very cluttered and quite a bit dirtier than I was used to. Her kids also didn't listen to her and her communication style and discipline was at odds w/ my parenting style. Not saying mine is right-but it was so different that I knew we weren't compatible. In the end she accused me of not thinking she was pretty enough and it was more about the other things. It's hard to be honest sometimes as doing so can be harmful. Hope you both have good luck on this site. VI Funcanuck |

Can't say that was a fear of mine ahead of time, but DID turn out to be my worst experience, lol. how do you know she wasn't really hearing voices? just because we don't hear them doesn't mean they aren't there... i've always wondered about people that see and hear things might be different biologically than those who don't... but maybe they are psycho, who knows? |

I think I just get fed up seeing the same over-used cliched questions. It's as if people don't have any originality. I guess a lot do just want to be seen as the same as others, but it gets old so quickly. Which is why I like to take a good break from forum sites, sometimes. If I want to hear something on repeat, I'll go play a record on the repeat loop. . Cliches are one of my pet peeves.
