On January 15th, 2013, Governor Andrew Cuomo dealt a major blow to your second amendment rights. His new firearms bill will cost the state millions in new registration databases and enforcement, cost dealers thousands in absurd record keeping and make you a criminal for possessing the same firearms you owned legally on January 14th, 2013. All of these additional costs will burden the consumer and the tax payer. The new law will do nothing to curb gun violence or stop a mass murder. But those who voted for it and the Governor do not care; they don´t want you to own firearms PERIOD. Not only does this measure trample the very Constitution he swore to uphold, but it was rushed through in the middle of the night. The bill was not released to the public before it was voted on and Cuomo waived the mandatory three day cooling off period before forcing a vote. He is a treasonous tyrant who is out of control. Sign the petition below to impeach this man and restore our once great State from the top down.

I agree totally. Assault rifles are the only guns that should not be banned. I dont mind the background checks, i think thats a step in the right direction. Do a mental checlist of every mass shooting you guys remember, then count how many involved assault rifles. Think about why people rarely have shootouts with the police, they have ASSAULT RIFLES! Think people. If anyone can name a third or more mass shooting carried out with an assault rifle email me.

BTW, Sandy Hook Elementary did not involve an assault rifle. It was left in the car the shooter drove to the school and the coroners reports showed no large (rifle) caliber bullets in any of the victims or anywhere in the school.

Well that's the alternative report anyway. The petty tyrannic Officer in charge who wants to arrest anyone who disputes his reports says otherwise.

And it isn't an Assault-Rifle,but simply a Semi-automatic Rifle,like all the other ones termed Assault-Weapons!

Assault Weapon - an arbitrary name given by the government to any weapon with features similar to features on military-grade weapons

which means that any semi-automatic can be termed an Assault-Weapon,and therefore can be banned,which is the direction the Gungrabbers are steering!

This goes to show you that the ones that know the least about firearms (and the correlation between ownership and gun violence) are the ones trying to pass the legislation. This is a terrible knee jerk reaction and one that will ultimately cost lives.

Especially since their greatest adversary on the issue, actually offered to help fund solutions that would benefit everyone (expanding mental healthcare), the the anti-gun advocates would rather take your guns away (which statistically has never worked for us before), further dwindling the rights of Americans. Does anybody tragic and hypocritical and sad?

Just an FYI, i checked the video that brought about this belief. The weapon they found in the car was a semi-auto shotgun. The action did not match the AR style rifles when the officer was clearing it.
