A couple of years ago, I got a puppy for my minor son. It was a great trade.

* * * * * * * * *

I took the puppy with me to my mother's house. My mother met me at the door and said, "Stop! Turn around and leave. I don't want any dirty animal in my house . . . but the puppy can come in."

* * * * * * * * *

The difference between cleaning up after a child and cleaning up after a puppy is that the puppy isn't nearly as messy as the child.

* * * * * * * * *

My wife used to sleep beside me on my bed. Now the dog does.*
Finally I have a companion who doesn't take my covers while I'm sleeping.

* * * * * * * * *

The first time that my new girlfriend visited my home, she took one look at my dog and said, "Either that dog goes or I do."

I'm going to miss that girlfriend.

(*My wife is now deceased. I obtained a puppy for my minor son to help him cope with the loss of his mother.)

I like all your puppy dog tails... Dodo_David... and Word is sooo freakin adorable... :thumbsup: happy Such sad news about your wife... flowerforyou

My 80 pd dog, Hammer, doesn't steal my blanket off me, but his dead weight is so heavy that when he lays on his spot of the bed, I can't arrange the covers to where I need them, especially if he's already asleep, cuz he's so stubborn and he won't move until I have to physically make him... talk about a struggle for cover... :) but I love it...
