Topic: A Sabbatical (to or from) Yourself? | |
---|---|
Senses are heightened in this tin can we call a chat room.
The "relative" anonymity possibly allows us to speak more freely about certain things......or......possibly makes us hyper aware of how exactly what we say could be taken out of context. Do you find yourself "exaggerated" here? Do you find yourself any more or less "yourself" than in physical public? |

I've been posting on internet forums long enough so that I'm as much myself on them as I am on them.
If a bit less reserved. |
I'm not that shy in person, but I find I can recognize and organize my thoughts a lot better if I write them down
or bounce them off others in a place such as this |

Joel......you've met me....lol
i am just as bl8ant in person as i am in here!!! correct? i have no secrets...and i am SO COMPLETELY FULL OF MYSELF i really enjoy my irreverence.... if i took everything very seriously , i could not do what i do!!! and then where would all my people be? |
The way I am on here is the way I am in person.

I guess to be totally honest (with myself), here in the can is "where" I come to sound off a bit, so the more rambunctious side shows up more often than the introspective (obviously).
I think "I" perhaps exaggerate a "bit" in here, but "here" seems to be the place to invoke conversations, that I might not at the dinner table. I think it would be fair and honest to say I am perhaps a little more outspoken "here". |

I think being online has opened me up... one life bled into the other.
a bit more outspoken in physical public as a result?
Yeah, more confident meeting people in person and sharing unpopular opinions...cuz now I don't care if people like them or not, life goes on.
My brother just looked over my shoulder and agreed:-/ |

I am pretty much the same here as in public...
I believe the internet has opened me up more though- to intereact with people more. I find myself intereacting more here and out there in the world too... Before I was much more shy- than I am now... |
im the same person no matter were i am...work,home,online ect. i really like who i am

I am more open here, mainly because "real life" rarely gives me an opportunity to have the same sorts of discussions as what we have in these forums....
There is no one to talk to, where I live, other than the occasional cow or pig on the side of the road, and they care little for my observations on tape dispensers.... |
I am just as inconsequential in real life, yes. |
Beach...
I was going to say, I was myself here. BUT, I actuality, I find myself BRAVER here....more open. |
I am more reserved online then in person.. I worry that when I truely speak my mind people would interpret it wrong because they may read it with different emotional context then what was intended.

Karen...lol
that will pass....i think it comes with old age hahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
I find myself being more open with the real world.

Serious, contemplative, philosophical, opinionated, playful, goofball .... uhhh pretty much the same as real life
I have been finding a nice group of like-minds online so the discussions have been wonderful and varied. Moreso than in real life lately. I am learning so much and the mirrors are awesome. |

Still learning........
