The Jazz Club
Cigar smoke rises giving the room an aura of fog and mystery Shots of bourbon and Southern Comfort and Coke for the gentlemen and for the ladies wine and something fruity And the music . . . well it is a jazz club so it’s definitely something smooth and in between the conversation flows along with a little laughter but the stage is where it’s at the band has command of each and every ear Slowly the night begins to end well the night is also about to begin as couples slip out one by one some seeking a little more fun being out and about while others head home to finish what the evening started and as the doors close . . . the music still plays |

I hear the word 'sultry' in my head reading this...sigh... Hmm that's a great word. I've never used it in a poem. Guess what I have to do now. |
