He smiled
as she walked down the aisle
she was as perfect as every dream he’d ever had

She was beautiful
and he hoped that he deserved her

Hers

She was so nervous
as she held her father’s arm as tightly as she could
each step was closer to her dreams
the man she loved
the man who loved her

She smiled
she cried
she squeezed his arm

Her Father’s

He couldn’t believe it
his baby girl
he was giving her away
yet he wanted to pull her back
not that he didn’t like or appreciate her soon to be husband
he just wanted to be her father again
watching her as she grew into a beautiful and dynamic woman

And he couldn’t help himself
as his tears fell

Her Maid of Honor

That’s her girl . . . oh she is so beautiful
slight jealousy
yeah but it was a god thing
she was about to marry someone so special
and she deserved his love
his affection

Her heart fluttered
she smiled
and soon she too began to cry

His Mother

She wanted to be angry
she had worked to raise him alone
she fought every day
trying to teach him how to be a man
but she couldn’t
she loved her son
and that was enough
it would always be enough

She bit her lip
trying to hold back her tears
yet she couldn’t

It was a celebration
two very special people
two very special families
coming together to form a union
designed by love to last forever
