And Then
Saturday morning and sun has stretched from here to there leaving no dark corner empty My iPod is blaring throughout the house waking everyone (and yes there are more than a few choice words . . . not from the kids though but the wife, uh, yeah, she’s not too happy . . . yet) Soon the aroma of bacon and coffee along with pancakes and cheesy eggs (cheddar, is her favorite) seeks her senses and the words go from Ouch! to yeah baby, good morning and then the kiss along with laughter and yuck and ugh! (it’s what happens when you have kids) Oh and gross . . . and I thought our generation retired that word I lower the music, just something about kitchen table chatter that is remarkably refreshing . . . you know, family talking planning our day together we go from the beach to the museum to the theme park to every imaginable thought from the five year old and I sit back smiling enjoying this moment because I know that though nothing last forever something is worth a life time |
